The NEBOSH National Certificate in the Management of Health and Well-being at Work is designed to provide the skills and knowledge required to tackle health and well-being at work; achieving productivity gains, reducing absence and providing a better place to work. The qualification emphasises practical management solutions to workplace health to enable managers to understand how these contribute to the prevention of ill-health and promote rehabilitation.
It is suitable for general managers, supervisors, HR managers, and safety professionals (rather than occupational health practitioners), who have responsibility for, or involvement in, the health and well-being of employees as part of their day-to-day duties.
Holders are able to develop effective health and well-being strategies at work by identifying risks and managing issues such as reducing absence, facilitating return to work, stress, musculoskeletal disorders and workplace health promotion.
The qualification features a practical assessment based on the identification of workplace health and well-being needs. This will include identifying strengths and weaknesses in the way health and well-being is managed and complete a report to management with prioritised recommendations for improvements.
This qualification was developed after extensive research with health and well-being professionals, employers, professional bodies and regulators to ensure that they remain relevant, rigorous, as well as achievable and practical.
